Book recommendations

These are just a few of the many books that have inspired me as a teacher, in my daily practices, and in my life.


"Beginning Mindfulness, Learning the Way of Awareness" by Andrew Weiss
This was one of the first books I read when I was starting my meditation practice and I still look to it as a guide

"Soul Centered", by Sarah McLean
Sarah is one of my mentors and it was her teacher training that I trained under.
This is a lovely book and guide for building and maintaining a daily meditation practice.


"Wherever You Go There You Are, Mindfulness Meditation in Everyday Life" by Jon Kabat-Zinn
Jon Kabat-Zinn developed and founded Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
and this book outlines a path for cultivating mindfulness.

Thich Nhat Hanh has written many books that inspired me; his books are rooted in Buddhist philosophy, but also contain beautiful tools for daily life mindfulness practices. A few to consider:
"Happiness"
"No Mud, No Lotus"
"Good Citizens"

"The Book of Joy, Lasting Happiness in a Changing World"
His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, with Douglas Abrams
The title sums it up, I smiled the entire time I read this book; the love and respect these two spiritual leaders have for each other shines in this record of a week-long gathering between two special friends.
